He has made many UK and worldwide voice-overs and commercials and continues to sing with his 7-piece jazz band Big Jam Jazz Band.

William also saw 8 years' service with the Honourable Artillery Company. He had gained recognition and/or honours in many sporting disciplines, including off-road driving (UK team), rugby (Harlequins, Wasps, British TA team), Nordic skiing/biathlon (Army championships 2004-07), combat shooting and sailing. He represented Britain in the 1996 Camel Trophy, completing the first-ever motorised crossing of the Borneo jungle. During the 1999 Australia-Fiji yacht race, he was shipwrecked on New Caledonia by a hurricane, before hitching a ride on a passing ship to Fuji and later winning the 1999 President's Cup. He has recently completed two Plymouth-Dakar-Banjul motor rallies across NW Africa and the Sahara Desert.
